Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau
Promotes Sales Manager

BRADENTON, Fla. (November 27, 2007) – Following a recent reorganization, the Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has promoted Sharon Kingston to the position of Sales Manager. Kingston will work in conjunction with the CVB’s marketing department to represent the destination at industry trade shows, and will serve as liaison between the CVB and The Florida Gulf Coast Sports Commission. In addition, she will maintain a database of leads for the entire Manatee County tourism industry, working closely to ensure their success.

A 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Kingston’s background includes Director of Sales positions at the Holiday Inn Airport Marina, Park Inn Resort, and Days Inn in Bradenton. In her new role, Kingston will also manage all sales for the Manatee County Convention Center and The Crosley Estate, including meetings, conventions, and sporting events, and will oversee three domestic and international sales representatives.

“I’m pleased to move Sharon into this position, “said Larry White, Executive Director, Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We will utilize Sharon’s extensive sales background to increase our meetings and conventions in this market."

The CVB’s reorganization comes on the heels of a successful fiscal year that included TripAdvisor’s™ prediction of Anna Maria Island to be the #1 U.S. Hot Spot for 2007.

The Bradenton Area Convention & Visitors Bureau promotes tourism to Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key, Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch through domestic and international advertising, public relations and marketing efforts.
